The Hill Welcomes Two New Hotels and Conference Center

December 3, 2022  /  By Jake Hudson-Humphrey  /  Features

The Hill is set to receive two new hotels and a conference center by 2025, bringing year-round business and activity to the district.

The Hill Hotel, set to open in spring of 2024, is a mixed-use redevelopment project that will modernize and enhance a current site while providing a stable asset for the University Hill economy. The hotel will feature 189 rooms, 9,000 SF of retail space, and two large plazas.

The Limelight Conference Center and Hotel, located at the 1400 block of Broadway, is set to open in 2025. The hotel will offer approximately 250 rooms, all of which are uniquely spacious at 400 sqft. In addition to the hotel rooms, the Limelight Conference Center and Hotel will have a central courtyard and event space, 3,000 sqft of retail including a café/bistro and full-service restaurant, and 25,000 sqft of meeting space. It will also feature one of the biggest ballrooms in the state at 15,000 sqft. The hotel will have 400 parking spots (200 of which will be CU-operated) in a 3-floor parking garage.

Both hotels will be anchors for year-round traffic and revenue on The Hill, bringing vibrancy to a historic commercial core. They will be great for surrounding businesses, which often struggle to maintain revenue during the summer months when students are gone. The addition of these hotels and conference center is expected to boost the local economy and provide a variety of amenities for visitors and residents alike.
