100 years in business is worth celebrating, and The Sink is creating numerous opportunities to join the festivities. After kicking off its centennial birthday in January 2023, the restaurant has had monthly Friday Afternoon Clubs, a film premiere at The Boulder Theater, a ‘where are they now’ spotlight on “Diners, Drive-Inns, and Dives,” The celebrations aren't over as they will soon host a Community Block Party and debut an exhibit at The Museum of Boulder.
On Saturday, September 2nd, The Sink will host their 100-Year Block Party. From 2 - 8 pm, partygoers can enjoy live music while savoring Sink Classics from the outdoor grill and sipping cold libations from the outdoor bars. Featuring local musicians Aster, Midnight Strange, and Flat G, the evening will be filled with lively music, a free caricaturist, and an opportunity to purchase limited edition 100th anniversary merchandise.
The reason behind the party comes from the owners, Chris Heinritz, Mark Heinritz, and Tell Jones wanting to create an event to celebrate not just 100 years of serving the community but to have a great time with the actual community that has gotten them there. Mark Heinritz stated, “I’m excited to reunite with everyone. It has been a long time since we were all in the same place at once. It’s going to be a real good time!” Agreeing with that sentiment, Chris Heinritz adds, “It will be wonderful to utilize the event street to its full capacity for the first time.”
With generations of Sink Rats attending, The Sink’s 100-Year Block Party is free to attend (food and beverages available for purchase) with various activities and entertainment that promise an afternoon of good times and great people!
