Join us at Nick Ryan Gallery for the opening of Object / Image, featuring the works of John Gibson and Andrew Watel. Both artists delve into object-based painting, each bringing a unique perspective to their subjects.​

John Gibson has dedicated nearly four decades to painting spheres, merging the chiaroscuro of 17th-century European still life with minimalist aesthetics. His works invite viewers to contemplate form and materiality.​

Andrew Watel focuses on utilitarian objects—springs, valves, and fans—drawing them from measurement and memory. His process emphasizes the act of seeing and the transformation of the mundane into art.​
